We do! We are in-network with Cigna/Evernorth, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna. We’re also participating providers in Employee Assistance Programs. We work with Anthem EAP, Cigna EAP, and Aetna EAP. We are not in-network with any other EAPs or insurance providers at this time, but we do bill directly as out-of-network providers.
We are considered out-of-network (OON) providers by most insurance companies. Many insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that will typically reimburse between 50% to 80% of session costs after your deductible is met. Most Medicaid plans do not currently offer OON benefits.
Prior to a consultation and session, our reception and billing team will verify your benefits, explain your out-of-network coverage and make sure that you understand your benefits and cost per session.
After sessions, our billing team can file your claims for you or can provide documentation and support for you to submit to your insurance. In all cases we session payments are made in full at the time of the session and insurance reimbursement for covered sessions will be sent directly to you.
For more information about your in and out-of-network coverage, please fill out our secure scheduling form where you will be able to upload your insurance card. Our receptionist will check your benefits and get back to you to figure out a payment plan. You can also call us at 929-234-1697 with any questions.

In order to best serve you, our intake coordinator will conduct an intake with you to best match you with our services and the most qualified clinician. In this session, we begin the process of getting to know your story and strengths and what brought you to AGAPE.
AGAPE is currently scheduling Intakes within 1 week for daytime appointments (both in person and virtually). Evenings and weekends are highly desired and more difficult to schedule given current client caseloads. Please communicate any daytime flexibility in your schedule to assist us in scheduling you.
For existing clients needing to reach their therapist you can contact them directly or email agapefamilytherapy@gmail.com to get in contact with them.
Any new clients seeking short-term disability will need to be admitted to AGAPE and receive services for a minimum of 4-6 consecutive sessions before any submission of documentation to your insurance or policyholder. Please note that there is an additional fee for completing these documents outside of your therapy. That fee will be discussed with you by the AGAPE administration.
Our cancellation policy requires 24-hour notice of cancellation. Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice requires payment in full. If you are unable to attend your session in person, we are available via phone or video. These methods can also be used as a plan for individuals with potential obstacles to attendance such as frequent travel, chronic health issues, COVID related concerns, and more.
We are by appointment only and we book our times based on our appointments. Your session time is your time and if you are late we will meet for the remaining time left in your appointment slot. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend the session time. If our clinicians are late to session the session is free.

Part of therapy is building a relationship and it’s important that you feel comfortable and safe discussing the issues you most struggle with. Ensuring you and your therapist are a good fit takes intuition and dedicating time to build a relationship where you can make authentic progress.
In the first session, you and your therapist will discuss why you decided to go into treatment and begin discussing relevant current and historical information. Once in treatment, you will make connections to better understand your behavior and patterns, make changes and learn the tools to address new issues as they arise.
Every person is different and wants and needs a different amount of time and type of treatment. Progress and growth take time and effort, and it's hard to quantify that without having first spent time with you in session, better understanding you and your goals. Some people are in treatment for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, or longer. Our goal is to help you learn how to manage and live your life in a way that feels fulfilling and sustainable, relate to therapy however feels best for you and your life, and for you to have agency over your own therapy.
